Today is my eldest daughters birthday. Everyone is partied out, like most years. This year we are going to have to celebrate her half-birthday instead, six months from now.
Back at the ranch meanwhile, firewood seems a bit harder to come by than in past years. Also wood pellets are sold out everywhere. A supplier has gone out of business, which is an opportunity for someone. Must be a big market, with all the pellet stoves in every hardware store lately. Surely the emerald ash borer situation makes this a good time to go into pellet production. Lots of ash available, and the heat and pressure of the pellet production process would kill all parasites. Perhaps Government regulation means a five year study before any such use of suspect wood.
